Dr Neeraj Patil was sworn in as the Mayor of Lambeth district of London on Wednesday, May 26.Patil is being elected as a labour councilor of Lambeth, for the second term. He was unanimously elected as the Mayor of Lambeth, soon afterwards.
Neeraj Paitl becomes another Indian recognition over the world, as has been elected as a Councilor and a mayor.Patil has also been honored with the Karnataka Rajyothsava Award and the Aryabhatta Award. Patil belongs to a politically active family in Kamalapura.
He will be in charge to look after the welfare of NRI's and other expats who are living in that area of London.
40-year-old Dr Neeraj Patil re-elected as a councillor for another four years in London Borough of Lambeth in the recent local elections held in United Kingdom. Dr Patil succeeded councillor Christopher Wellbelove, Patil is currently working as a consultant with A&E and a governor of Guys and St Thomas Hospital in central London. Born and brought up in Kamalapur in Gulbarga district in Karnataka, Patil completed his MBBS from M R Medical College, Gulbarga in 1992 and worked for some time in the Osmania Medical College before coming to the UK for higher studies.
